About Wondy™ App

The Wondy™ App teaches clicker training and reminds us to notice and celebrate the "goodness" in our pups! We use intuitive and friendly design to help you use your smartphone as an "all-in-one" clicker training toolbox. -- The wondy™ clicker allows you to give your pup immediate feedback when she does something right, and the wondy™ clicker cam allows you to clicker train while taking pictures and sharing photos of your dogs good behavior on your favorite social media sites. ...Discover the wonder!

The Wondy™ App was created by Casey Newton, puppy expert and founder of Wonder PuppyR Parenting Center, in Portland, OR. It is the Wonder PuppyR mission to help people bring out the best in their dogs while bringing out the best in themselves.

Why use a clicker?
The clicker is quicker! When you click at the exact moment a behavior happens and then give your pup food and praise, the sound becomes meaningful and tells her, "That specific thing you did at that precise moment – I like that! Your paycheck is coming!" This provides your pup with clear and immediate feedback so that she knows exactly what to repeat, and you don’t have to rush to get the treat.

When to click!
To have the best clicker timing, you can imagine your clicker is like a camera for taking pictures of "good behavior" - click at the exact moment that you see anything well-behaved, cute, funny, practical, or that you want to see more of ...and then "pay" your pup for the the great work! You can click "action shots" like coming when called, going to a bed, or chewing appropriately on a toy. Or, "still shots" like sit-stays at the park, holding still when being pet by a child, or relaxing at a cafe. Those behavior repetitions over time will become your pups good habits! And, now with the wondy™ clicker cam, you can actually take pictures, and then share your favorite snap shots with the world!

Training – Clicker Training

2-step clicker training

1) Click and Treat the behavior
When you see good behavior, press the star button on the wondy™ clicker or take a photo with the wondy™ clicker cam, and then give your pup treats and praise!

2) Label the behavior
Once your pup is enthusiastically repeating a behavior, present a word or hand signal (cue) just before she starts to do the behavior. It will take about 30-50 successful repetitions for the cue to become meaningful to your dog.
